The chehlum processions commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and the martyrs of Karbala concluded peacefully across Pakistan, with stringent security measures in place. In various cities, including Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and Lahore, mobile phone services were temporarily suspended as a precaution during the processions. In Rawalpindi, the main mourning procession, featuring the traditional Zuljanah, concluded at the Imambargah Qadeem. As the procession ended, mobile services began to be restored. In Karachi and other parts of Sindh, similar processions, including the symbolic Zuljanah and Alam processions, were held. The central procession in Karachi commenced from Nishtar Park and followed its traditional route, ending at Imambargah Hussainian Iranian in Kharadar. Snipers were stationed on high-rise buildings along the procession routes, and heavy contingents of police and Rangers were deployed to handle any potential security threats.
