PM seeks Kenyan president’s help in Arshad Sharif murder probe

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar called on Kenyan President, Dr William Ruto, during their meeting in China on Tuesday, urging him to expedite the findings of the ongoing investigation into the tragic murder of Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif in Kenya. Arshad Sharif, a highly regarded journalist and news anchor, lost his life while in Kenya on October 23 last year. "The prime minister respectfully requested President Ruto's support in facilitating the completion of the report by the Special Joint Investigation Team on the case of the late Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif," stated the PM Office in a press release following the meeting. Their mutual objective is to identify and launch new projects and initiatives, signifying Pakistan's dedication to promoting development and mutual prosperity through increased cooperation and partnerships. Prime Minister Kakar warmly extended an invitation to President Ruto to visit Pakistan at an early, mutually convenient date, an invitation that was graciously accepted. In return, President Ruto invited the prime minister to visit Kenya at his earliest convenience. Both leaders agreed to finalise these visits through diplomatic channels.
